7 days in northern Madagascar — a sample plan

One week, one car, one driver — lemurs, tsingy, vanilla and the coast, without a single rushed day. This is how we would drive it ourselves. Take it as it is, or bend any day — every piece is a fixed-price building block.

1

Land in Diego Suarez

We meet you at DIE arrivals with a name sign. Check in, breathe, then the bay — Ramena beach or the Emerald Sea viewpoint if your flight lands early.

2

The great crossing: Diego → Vohemar

Six hours through the north's changing landscapes — dry tsingy country, Ambilobe's crossroads bustle, then the vanilla coast opens up. Lunch on the way; ocean by evening.

3

Daraina — the golden-crowned sifaka

The lemur that exists nowhere else on Earth, an hour from your hotel. Morning forest walk with a local guide, back in Vohemar for dinner.

4

Vohemar rest day

Baie d'Iharana, quiet beaches, coconut country. No car needed — your driver rests too. Ask him where the fish is grilled.

5

Vanilla coast: Vohemar → Sambava

An easy coastal run into the world's vanilla capital. Afternoon plantation visit or the beach — Sambava does both.

6

Marojejy rainforest day

Up the Lokoho valley to the rainforest gate at Manantenina — guided walk, silky-sifaka territory, vanilla plantations on the way home.

7

Fly out from Sambava (SVB)

A short hop to the airport — we sort the drop-off with your booking. You leave with vanilla in your bag and the north in your pocket.

All the driving in this plan — car, driver and fuel: €3721 810 000 Ar for the whole car, up to 4 travellers, fixed.
